In honor of National Dog Day, on Monday, August 26th, Fontainebleau partnered with Tito’s Vodka and the Humane Society of Greater Miami to celebrate our paw friends and continue to support adoptions and care for animals everywhere. Throughout the day, Fontainebleau team members were invited to participate in a number of fur-friend related activities such as making their own “Bleau Berry” dog treats, a pet kissing booth, and a very posh Doggie Fashion Show.
This event stems from Fontainebleau’s ongoing Bleau Adopts™, which connects team members with animals in need. This program, which launched in early 2018, is spearheaded by Brooke Soffer, Vice President of Retail for Fontainebleau, aiming to inspire a new approach to finding homes for pets. The idea sparked when Soffer would bring her dogs – all of which have been adopted – to work with her. She noticed that team members always stopped to greet them, play with them – it was evident that the simple act of being around these animals brought joy to their day. One day, when Soffer was trying to find a home for a shelter dog, she decided to bring the pup to work with her at the Miami Beach resort for a few hours, and to her surprise, a team member actually decided to adopt him. After that, she continued to bring dogs in need to get affection from the hotel’s team members – and after six dogs were adopted, the Bleau Adopts™, program was officially born.

There are so many animals in our community that are in need of a loving home and I believe if people really knew how much of an issue it is, they would never consider purchasing a pet. The Bleau Adopts program makes it more accessible by bringing the animals to our team members, making it easy for them to fall in love with pets they might have never met. It has been so rewarding to see how much joy these animals add to our work day; even for team members that aren’t able to adopt, it’s nice to simply watch them take a break from work to come greet the dog – it always brings a smile to their face and brightens their day.”

The Bleau Adopts™, program is an extension to Fontainebleau’s existing pet program, which offers spacious rooms and exclusive amenities to four-legged guests, including a complimentary dog tag with “return to” information, in-room pet movies, and an on-premises, ocean-side dog park.
